Cemetery Etiquette/Paranormal Investigation Rules
1. Always bring your ID and extra batteries.
2. Have the utmost respect for the dead and their place of rest.
3. Leave the cemetery in the exact condition or better than you found it. Take everything with you that you brought and memories, but nothing more. If vases are knocked over, stand them back up.
4. Desecration and/or disrespect is not condoned! If you accidentally step on a grave, sincerely apologize to the person/person's spirit.
5. Limit talking/keep your voice down when in a cemetery, for the respect of the dead and their visitors as well as fellow investigators doing research on site.
6. Be careful when using flashlights that you do not shine them when someone is taking a picture. Use of red lenses is recommended, to not disrupt your night vision.
7. When recording (EVPs), always note the date, time and place. Have each investigator say their name. This may be helpful when trying to debunk extraneous talking.
8. If you have an anomaly in a picture, immediately try to recreate it. Take another shot from the same position and see if you get the same results.
9. When investigating cemeteries at night, be aware of your surroundings. There may be animals or other people present. Some sort of (legal) protection is recommended (i.e. baseball bat). No firearms are allowed. Also, have bug spray handy for those summer evenings and mosquitoes that will tote you away.
10. Never investigate alone. There must be at least two people together at all times. This will increase your safety as well as having a witness for paranormal activity.
11. Use of tobacco and/or drugs on an investigation is strictly prohibited.
